Good afternoon,
Today, the Administration met with Police Chief Koerner, Public Works Supt. Ed Johnson, and EMA Director Randy Ulaskas, as well as Chief Nieland of the Monee Fire Protection District to coordinate Winter Storm Operational planning. In anticipation of possible power outages, ComEd will also be available to assist our teams and will be operating their Joint Operations Center throughout the weekend and will remain in close communication with our Staff. In the event of a power outage, the Parks Building will be used as a warming center (Village Hall as well – if needed). The Parks Building will have the assistance of the Police Department and EMA Team to assist with monitoring.
Tomorrow, Thursday Dec 22, we will enact the Winter Storm Emergency Operation by coordinating efforts with the DPW, MPD, and EMA. These departments will make sure that all shifts are covered, roads are cleared, and traffic control is in place at all crash scenes. EMA will remain on the scene until all injured have received medical attention, and all vehicles are safely removed.
Finally, we will take additional safety precautions by closing the Village Hall, Parks Building, and Building Services Office tomorrow, allowing staff to work from home.
