Why Monee? Brian’s Place:
Trustee Doug Horne Visits Brian’s Place Restaurant
Trustee Doug Horne has recently had the pleasure of visiting one of our community staples—Brian’s Place Restaurant, located right here on Route 50 in Monee. Trustee Horne sat with the owner, Ruben, who has been part of this restaurant’s journey for 35 years!
Ruben first started working at Brian’s Place when he was just 21 years old. Now at 56, he continues to carry on the legacy of the restaurant’s original owner, Brian. “We’ve kept most of the same recipes,” Ruben shared. “Brian was here a long time, and we try to keep his traditional menu that our customers love.”
Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Brian’s Place has something for everyone—including weekday specials, kids’ meals, and weekend treats. The menu is a fan favorite, serving up generous portions of both American comfort food and Mexican-inspired dishes. From hearty breakfast skillets and fluffy pancakes to savory omelets like the Greek Feta and Big Gary, there’s something for every craving. Lunchtime regulars rave about the burgers, wraps, and daily specials that keep things fresh.
Ruben’s dedication goes beyond just serving food—his heart belongs to Monee.
“I love Monee. I love the people in Monee. Everything I have is because I have dreams, and those dreams come true here, in Monee,” he says.
For decades, Brian’s Place has been a reliable and beloved stop for both residents and travelers. With its country-western charm, cozy booths, and warm service, it’s more than just a diner—it’s where friends, families, and neighbors come together.
Thank you, Ruben, for your dedication to keeping this Monee tradition alive. We’re grateful to have you here and proud to call Brian’s Place a part of our hometown.
