  • Yes, the resale inspection fee is $50. You can either fill out the Resale Inspection form in person at the Building Services counter, or you can download the form from the website under "Permits & Forms" and email the form to buildingservices@villageofmonee.org. We don't accept payment over the phone; however, we can email you the invoice and then you are able to pay online or you may pay in person.   • Before a building permit is issued, all contractors and subcontractors listed on the permit must be licensed and insured with the Village.

  • Please call the Building Department at 708-534-8303 to schedule any required inspections. A contracted Building Inspector, certified with International Code Council, conducts the necessary inspections for the Village of Monee. The Building Department requires a 24-hour notice for such inspections. Inspections are performed during the Building Department’s normal business hours.

  • Garbage containers and recycle totes can be put out the night before trash collection no earlier than 7 p.m. and are to be brought back in no later than 7 p.m. the day of collection. Also, all garbage containers and recycle totes shall not be stored in the front yards on non-trash days. They shall be stored behind a privacy fence or out of view from public areas.

  • Yes, mobile storage containers shall not exceed 16 feet in length and shall not be placed on a property for more than 15 consecutive days, except for projects involving the construction of a facility at which time the container may be placed at the site until the expiration of the construction permit. It may not be placed in any unimproved yards, publicly owned rights-of-way or sidewalks. No person shall place mobile storage container upon their property for more than 2 such 15-day periods per calendar year. Also, you need to go into the Village and get a permit, which is $25.

  • Yes, you can have a dumpster on your property, but you need to go into the Village and get a permit, which is $25. Roll-off dumpster or roll-off container shall not be placed on a property for more than 15 consecutive days. No person shall place a roll-off dumpster or roll-off container upon their property for more than 2 such 15-day periods per calendar year. They must be placed on private property and may not be placed upon a public highway or right-of-way or public property without written approval by the Village to do so.
